Q. What is a recovery?
A. A recovery is your dashboard version. Different recoveries offer different things. For example a 7xxx recovery would be the old blade dash, while the 20xxx would have Kinect support.

Q. What can they do?
A. Development Kits are designed for 'Developers'. They allow you to run unsigned code (Similar to a jtag) in a more professional manner. You can also do stuff such as debugging on them. Depending on what your interested in will determine if you need one of these!

Q. Do they connect to Xbox Live?
A. No, They do not connect to Xbox Live. They connect to another network, (Similar to Live), called Partner Network.

Q.Do they include SideCars?
A. XDK's do NOT include sidecars! You do not need them anyways. The only thing they are there for is DVD Emulation. Yes they make it look pretty, but they also jack the price way up!

Q. How do Recoveries work?
A.There are multiple ways to update or downgrade your development kit.
-You can do it by the following:
1.) ISO- Burn the recovery to the ISO and simply put it in your Xbox 360.
2.) Remote Recovery- Download a certain type of recovery to your PC and do it over the network.
3.) Simply just buy it with the recovery already on it.

Q. So your saying I can go up and down between recoveries?!
A. Yes! On development Kits when you upgrade your dash it does not blow any E-Fuses. What that means is you can easily upgrade or downgrade (Depending on the recoveries you have).
